Lesson# 1: Listen. Watch. Learn. — Mastering the Art of Good Questioning
Asking great questions isn’t just about getting answers — it’s about opening doors to understanding, learning, and real connection. In our podcast and video lesson, you’ll explore how to develop effective questioning skills that help you think deeper, listen better, and engage more meaningfully in every conversation.
This is your second lesson in the short course. Watch the video below to explore how effective questioning can enhance communication, understanding, and engagement.
Good questions encourage discussion, show curiosity, and demonstrate respect for others’ ideas.
They help you:
Build trust and connection in conversations
Gain clarity and uncover insights
Encourage problem-solving and reflection
Strengthen your listening and critical thinking skills
Open-Ended Questions
Encourage detailed responses instead of simple “yes” or “no” answers.
Example: “What inspired you to make that decision?”
Probing Questions
Help you explore ideas more deeply.
Example: “Can you tell me more about what led to that?”
Reflective Questions
Show empathy and understanding by reflecting back what someone said.

✅ Be genuinely curious. Ask because you want to understand — not to prove a point.
✅ Listen carefully. Let silence do its work and allow the other person to think.
✅ Stay open-minded. Avoid judging or interrupting responses.
✅ Ask one question at a time. Give people space to answer fully.
✅ Use positive body language. Nod, smile, and show you’re engaged.
Handling difficult conversations isn’t always easy — but it’s one of the most important communication skills you can master. When you learn how to stay calm, listen with empathy, and respond with clarity (even in tense moments), you gain the confidence to handle almost anything. Watch the video lesson below to gain a deeper understanding of how to manage difficult conversations effectively.
